PA Student Preparation Prior to Clinical Rotations
- One year of health care experience (prior to admission).
- Pre-PA school undergraduate course requirements (prior to admission).
- Medical terminology course (prior to didactic phase).
- 21 courses in didactic phase of PA program (physiology, pharmacology, patient care skills, anatomy, pharmacology, evidence-based research and medicine, faith integration, and more).
- Clinical skills labs (including cadaveric dissection and “anatomage” table).
Preceptorship Site / Preceptor
- Should be willing to incorporate PA student into team for 5-week rotation / teach informally.
- Should expect PA student to follow preceptor’s clinical schedule (days, evenings, on-call, weekends).
- Completes mid-rotation and end of rotation evaluations.
