Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership

Our Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership will equip you to take your leadership to the next level as a practitioner/scholar. You’ll be trained to analyze theory and research methods and apply both to current challenges in your field. The degree is great preparation for the leader who wants a solid research foundation for generating real world results, while opening the door to broadened influence through teaching.
The Ed.D. requires a total of 60 credits. As a full-time student, a working professional can finish the coursework and dissertation process in three years. Successful completion of the program involves:
- Core courses (30 credits)
- Concentration courses (18 credits)
- Dissertation courses (12 credits)
- Comprehensive examination
- Dissertation completion

Year One
- Core Courses: Advanced Leadership Theory, Critical Inquiry, Organizational Theory, Organizational Change, Organizational Communication.
- Concentration Courses: Theology of Christian Organizational Consulting, Organizational Consulting (required for Business Concentration), Student Development Theory and Research, Leadership and Crisis Management, Transforming Ministry Organizations (required for Ministry Concentration), Financial Management, Higher Education Leadership and Administration, Historical Models of Ministry Leaders, Strategic Thinking and Planning, Higher Education History and Policy.
Year Two
- Core Courses: Faith, Ethics, and Leadership, Organizational Culture, Leadership and Diversity.
- Concentration Courses: Current Issues in Missiology, Data-driven Decisions, Leading Change and Innovation in Higher Education, Self-Leadership in Organizational Life, Conflict Management, Critical Issues in Higher Education (required for Education Concentration), Performance Evaluation in Ministry Organizations, managing Innovation, Teaching, Learning, and Assessment in Higher Education.
- Research Courses: Qualitative Research, Quantitative Research and Statistics.
Year Three
- Dissertation Courses: Dissertation Literature Review, Dissertation Proposal, Dissertation Research, Dissertation Writing.
