The founder of the Jesse Miranda Endowed Scholarship is the H. G. Clay Foundation. Their mission is "keeping eyes on the marginalized.” Therefore, the leading intent on the scholarship is to go to female students interested in entering women's ministry and Hispanic male or female students. In continuation of their annual scholarship, the Jesse Miranda Endowed Scholarship, the endowed funds will preferably go toward women entering ministry and/or students of a Hispanic lineage.

This scholarship is named after Dr. Jesse Miranda, a significant Hispanic leader, Assemblies of God minister, and promoter of education.
