Community Economic Development: NU’s Newest Master’s Degree
We are excited to announce that ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ now offers a Master of Arts in Community Economic Development (MACED). Suitable for experienced and aspiring leaders who want to obtain the knowledge, tools, and practical skills to bring lasting solutions to local communities, this sister degree to our popular Master of Arts in International Community Development is led by Dr. Brian Humphreys.
Here, Brian shares a message to NU alumni about this program. Courses include Culture and Diversity; Advocacy and Policy; Children, Poverty, and Development; Funding and Grant Writing; and Social Entrepreneurship. Options are available for either biweekly in-person classes or fully online classes. All MACED students are invited to gather for a week near the beginning of the program and a week at the end for intensive trip courses to U.S. destinations. These trips serve both to build community and to inspire creative application of program material. The first intensive will take place in the Seattle-Tacoma area from May 21–27. You can join a cohort in May 2023 or in January 2024, so apply for your MACED degree today!
