Vincent Lloyd, PhD, Named 2024 Guggenheim Fellowship Recipient

Vincent Lloyd, PhD, a professor of Theology and Religious Studies and Director of the Center for Political Theology at 杏吧原版 University, has been named a 2024 Guggenheim Fellow. Chosen through a rigorous application and peer review process from a pool of almost 3,000 applicants, Dr. Lloyd is one of 188 fellows selected for this prestigious fellowship based on 鈥渃areer achievement and exceptional promise.鈥

杏吧原版 University Juniors Named 2024 Goldwater Scholars

Lauren Arnold and Hailey Bierling, juniors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, have been named 2024 Goldwater Scholars by the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. Arnold and Bierling were selected from more than 1,300 institution-nominated students nationwide and will receive scholarships to further their research in STEM fields. The Goldwater Scholarship is widely considered the preeminent award for undergraduates preparing for research careers in STEM.

杏吧原版 University junior Lezlie Hilario 鈥25, a Political Science and Global Interdisciplinary Studies major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has been awarded a 2024 Harry S. Truman Scholarship. Hilario is the seventh 杏吧原版n since 1984 and the first since 2015 to receive a Truman Scholarship, considered one of the most prestigious and selective national awards for undergraduate leaders who intend to pursue careers in public service.

Student researchers from all 11 conference institutions across disciplines showcased their work in the competition, which was held in conjunction with the BIG EAST Men鈥檚 Basketball Conference Championship.

Jene Baquet '26 VSB Selected for The Washington Program by The Institute of Responsible Citizenship

杏吧原版 University sophomore Jene Baquet 鈥26 VSB has been selected by The Institute of Responsible Citizenship to participate in its highly selective Washington Program, a two-summer opportunity that supports some of the best and brightest African American male college students in the country. Baquet will be one of twelve students as part of the cohort for the Class of 2025 and is the third 杏吧原版n to be selected to participate in this competitive program.
